Minimalism is amazing! So many people around the world are learning exactly what it is about the lifestyle that can change their lives for the better. The amazing benefits and knowledge of yourself that you acquire throughout your journey are astonishing and sometimes unexpected. But first, we will start off with what minimalism is. After that, I will give you a quick overview of how you can become a minimalist. Then we will get right into the amazing benefits of minimalism. End things off with what I believe is the most amazing benefit of them all.
What is Minimalism
Minimalism is a lifestyle or philosophy about living with only the necessities or, at the very least, reducing the amount of excess stuff that one has to what they deem as minimal enough. It is important to keep in mind that because minimalism is a philosophy it looks different to everyone. What one person may see as having just the right amount, another may see it as having an excess, or they may see it as not having enough. For this reason, it is important to not compare yourself to others. If you want to learn more about it check out this documentary called Minimalism: a Documentary About the Important Things by The Minimalist.
A Quick Overview Of Minimalism
Minimalism is often a constant process of improvement. Though you can do it all at once, that is definitely the harder option. Most people start out by using the Kon Mori method, from the book Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, to declutter their homes. Going through their house one category at a time until they have got rid of all the things they want for that declutter. Then down the road, they declutter again and make their house even more minimal. They continue to do different steps of decluttering until they have only what they deem to be necessary.
The Amazing Benefits Of Minimalism
There are many amazing benefits of minimalism. Some may be more obvious than others. You may see the benefits of it without even having to think about it. Or it may take this article or others like it on my blog to fully understand the benefits of minimalism and living minimally.
First Benefit
The first benefit is that there are fewer things around so it is easier to keep things clean. Everything has a place and you know where it goes. So every time you take something out you know just where to put it back. Then you never have to clean again. I have not had to clean my room in years because it is so easy to keep clean it never gets bad enough to need a full clean. The worst it has gotten is me having to put a few things away at the end of the night because I was lazy during the day. But that is nothing compared to what it used to be like to clean my room.
Second Benefit
The next benefit is that having a minimalist home often can lead to a more peaceful mind. This is due to the fact that having a decluttered space leads to the mind being less frantic and busy because your mind likes when things are clean and done. You then have less to stress over by just looking around the room and seeing all the clutter.
Third Benefit
Another benefit of minimalism is the money you will save. By adopting a minimalist lifestyle you end up spending less money and things that you do not really need. This is because you know what you have and what you need. There is no need to buy multiples of things anymore. This you will learn along the way and may take some time. But you will learn to stop buying things that you do not need.
Fourth Benefit
The fourth benefit is that you find extra time for the more important things and people. As you declutter your things you begin to realize there are many things that waste your time too. It is not just your possessions taking up space. So you stop doing those things that do not bring you joy. And before you know it you will have so much free time that you do not know what to do with it. Though you will find something to do. I myself am using my extra time to create this online business.
Fifth Benefit
The last benefit of minimalism, that I have put in this list, is that you become more focused on experience over material possessions. As we all know you do not get to take your things with you when you die. But what you do get to take with you is your memories, your experiences. Experiences are very important to me. I want a rich life filled with memories. And minimalism has helped me to realize that, which I am very thankful for.
These are some really good benefits that you can get from minimalism but the one that I enjoy the most is that my home is kept much cleaner.
As you can see minimalism can really help you to improve your life in a few different ways. Life is not just about the possessions that you can occur throughout it. Minimalism can help you keep your home clean and your mind-free.
There are many more benefits that I did not include in this list. If you want me to write up another post with even more benefits, just comment below and let me know.

I am trying too and this past year we have given it an extra push as there’s nothing much to do really. For me, even my head and life feels clearer when I practice minimalism. I just think it can only be beneficial and is definitely the way to go.
